Socialite, Designer and Style Icon
My Grandmother loved "The Lilly." Some of my earliest memories of her include wildly graphic print dresses. Like Ms. Pulitzer, my grandmother was a socialite. She lived in Delray, Florida in the 50s and 60s where she spent a good deal of her time climbing the social ladder. My grandmother now in her late 80s lives in an assisted living facility where she is still partying and climbing to the top.
These are just a few of the prints Lilly Pulitzer created over her lifetime and some of them were worn by my GJ (Grandma Jane). -Sarah

The day started with finding replacement buttons for a lovely lace shirt whose only issue was rusting buttons. It ended with a love affair for vintage sewing notions.
This shirt suffered from a white fabric wrapped around a metal button foundation that rusted upon washing. Claire asked me to find some 1950s buttons to replace the ailing ones. A few years back I picked up a sewing box from the Salvation Army filled with old sewing supplies, including the buttons above. Here are a few pictures of all the other sewing notions I found.
